Epinephrine is used for the emergency treatment of severe allergic reactions. Allergic reactions produce vasodilation, epinephrine has a vasoconstriction effect which counteracts the allergic reaction. The Anaphylaxis Emergency Treatment Kit is indicated for use for allergic reactions (including anaphylactic shock) caused by bees, wasps, hornets or ants, pollens, dusts, moulds, foods, drugs, exercise. The Anaphylaxis Emergency Treatment Kit can also be of use in severe asthma attacks (life threatening). The Anaphylaxis Emergency Treatment Kit is not intended to replace medical attention, it is indicated for use when medical attention may be unavailable. Please make sure you read the directions for use for the EpiPen thoroughly and BEFORE you need to use it.

Dosage

Adults  : 0.3ml injection every 6-8 hours.

Children weighing 30kg and over : 0.3ml injection.

CONTAINS ONE EPIPEN WHICH CONTAINS A SINGLE DOSE OF ADRENALINE (EPINEPHRINE) INJECTION USP FOR INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTION. ONE DOSE (0.3mL) OF THE ADRENALINE (EPINEPHRINE) INJECTION CONTAINS SODIUM CHLORIDE 1.8mg, SODIUM METABISULFITE 500mcg, HYDROCHLORIC ACID TO ADJUST pH AND WATER FOR INJECTION. THE ANAPHYLAXIS EMERGENCY TREATMENT KIT ALSO INCLUDES FOUR ANTIHISTAMINE TABLETS CONTAINING DEXCHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE 2mg, TWO STERILISING SWABS, ONE TOURNIQUET AND DIRECTION SHEETS.

Do not use the Anaphylaxis Emergency Treatment Kit if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. The Injection is not for intravenous use. If you have a sulfite sensitivity you should consult your doctor about whether this product is suitable for you. Do not do anything to compromise the sterility of the EpiPen before it is needed as it can affect the epinephrine solution. If you are pregnant or breast feeding you should consult you doctor before using the Anaphylaxis Emergency Treatment Kit. The tablets may cause drowsiness so you should not drive or operate machinery.
